I tell my boyfriend who’s on holiday in Florida for two weeks (longest time we’ve ever been apart in our almost 11 month relationship) that I miss his smile, what does he do? Takes a picture of himself smiling and sends it to me :)

I was having a rather funny conversation with Sally- a friend of mine- and my boyfriend Alex today. We were talking about what we’d be if we were animals… or not human.

They said I’d be either an owl (big eyes), a bush baby (big eyes), a koala (cute and cuddly) or a baby wallaby (I have loads of energy for a bit then sleep for ages).

It got me thinking about what feature(s) define us, and how other people define us.

If I were to pick some features that I think define me, I’d say my appetite for cheering people up, but if you were to ask my trombone teacher, for example, he’d probably say something completely different as we only spend 20 mins together a week :)

Half term couldn’t feel futher away.

Ever get that feeling where you’re just fed up, fed up of working to a schedule, fed up of being told to do things in specific ways and not having any time to yourself.

I can’t wait to relax in cornwall with my family, take pleasure in the simpler things.

As if this time of the school year isn’t stressful enough…

The application process is insane: teachers take ages to give references, they don’t listen to you or try and help you as much as you can when you’re applying and then you get all sorts of really unhelpful advice with your personal statement…

…then you’ve applied, brilliant! You can stop stressing about it and just wait for the fated email from your universities…

Crikey, It’s been a while…

I’d like to write a long passage contemplating the meaning of life etc…but that would be dull (plus, the answer is 42, so my time would be wasted)

So I’m just going to say, I’ve been ill today…I watched “UP” (quickly becoming my favourite PIXAR film)…I tidied my room a bit… and despite getting a lot more organised with my weekly schedule- my new timetable is devised requires me to do 32 hrs of revision a week- I’m still a bit lacking in motivation to get an education. I just don’t see the point in trying when teachers at school- instead of telling me to try harder to achieve my goals- say “have you thought about uni’s with lower grades?” I understand being realistic is important, but really?? that’s your advice??

ah well, the whole education system is crumbling anyway and there will be no jobs for me when I’m out of uni so I tend to ask myself these days…Is there really much point?

I apologise for the ranty/ depressing vibe to this blog…it’s what a cold does to me!
